  • It was the first time I came here, and I must say it is really quite nice, in addition the view is nothing short of fantastic. You can visit just about everything and there is a chance to stop by for a wonderful lunch.

  • You climb up this winding road but wide. Then there is the road that takes you to the shrine. The show that opens is beautiful. The shrine is huge. Everything is well marked, from the restaurant, to the dormitory, down to the really important where there were "the first steps" of Saint Francis

  • This is a beautiful place!!!! It has such rich tradition with Saint Francis where he prayed and received the stigmata. It is here or near here that Saint Bonaventure wrote the Journey into God.
  • I personally liked the Sanctuary, even though its massive structure feels a little sovietic in parts. The visit to the small chapels and the frescoed alley is interesting, as is the view over the valley.
  • I hope one day I could visit La Verna

  • Quiet and nice view. I'll explain why in a Franciscan sanctuary dogs not permitted, not even on the square. But Francis was not pet friendly?
