  • I have been going to La Verna for many years; it is a singularly overwhelming experience--both for the artwork and for the sheer spiritual nature of the place. Not to be missed.  more »

  • Such an oasis! It's so beautiful and tranquil. As a location, it's a wonderful place to visit and see the views and the religious art and buildings. When you know the history and its association with St Francis, it becomes an even more spectacular place to visit.
  • This is a beautiful place!!!! It has such rich tradition with Saint Francis where he prayed and received the stigmata. It is here or near here that Saint Bonaventure wrote the Journey into God.
  • I personally liked the Sanctuary, even though its massive structure feels a little sovietic in parts. The visit to the small chapels and the frescoed alley is interesting, as is the view over the valley.
  • Beautiful scenery. Very impressive.
  • I hope one day I could visit La Verna
