Simply put, I just want to say that it feels like one step away from heaven ... you see firsthand the humility and faith of Saint Francis

The sanctuary of La Verna is a must see. Nice and well maintained. We arrived early, around 9 in the morning, I think it's the best time. Few people, silence and visit alone and calmly and it was mid-August. In fact, 11 o'clock, when we left there was already a large number of people, confusion and peace over. Breathtaking, beautiful i della Robbia.

Such an oasis! It's so beautiful and tranquil. As a location, it's a wonderful place to visit and see the views and the religious art and buildings. When you know the history and its association with St Francis, it becomes an even more spectacular place to visit.

This is a beautiful place!!!! It has such rich tradition with Saint Francis where he prayed and received the stigmata. It is here or near here that Saint Bonaventure wrote the Journey into God.

I personally liked the Sanctuary, even though its massive structure feels a little sovietic in parts. The visit to the small chapels and the frescoed alley is interesting, as is the view over the valley.
