  • A small church clinging to the rocks overlooking the sea in the pine forest between Chiavari and Rapallo. Can be reached by car along the Aurelia and parking at the first gallery or walk to a nice trail in about half an hour (!) from soprapasso at the end of corso Buenos Ayres. The Church is reflected in the documents of the 1400, but it's definitely older. The walls have beautiful frescoes (some ruined by time) with scenes from the life of Christ for the hand of Teramo Piaggio and counter the last judgment by Luca cambiaso (1550). In architecture you recognize the front with Hospitable for pilgrims. Inside the room where they kept the ex-voto recognize the figure of the Pilgrim to Santiago de Compostela. The atmosphere of silence is palpable. On Sundays you can attend mass at 11.30. From the beautiful view either to Chiavari and towards Portofino. And if you want you can walk towards monte Telegrafo, mount Anchetta and beyond.

  • The "promenade" and beyond. ... There are things that money can't buy. ... So it is with the landscape that surrounds us. The "promenade" in Chiavari is one of them. Runs within a few kilometers and offers those who want a little of everything. If you are starting with c.so Cristoforo Colombo (monumental sculptor FrancescoMessina, 1935), we find rides, bumper cars and everything that can make the joy of children. The sidewalks are wide for wheelchairs, small bicycles, bikes, skateboards that juggle between kiosks kiosks and fountains. Go ahead, always waterfront, in c.so Valparaiso, skirting the harbour up to the area called Marina Julia, who was, at the time, the beginning of a fishing village whose memory is in small colorful houses, inside, now bent on tourism, while outside, facing the sea, a complex of bars and restaurants, offer the chiavarese and tourists. The "piazzetta dei pescatori", aka Mighty square, concludes the Walk "official." Here the sea is just a few steps, descending from easy rocks open to great beaches, alas in summer inzeppate of establishments. If you want you can continue along via Preli until campsite and tennis courts. You will meet more than discussed ex-colony Fara, the futuristic building of 30 by stating that poses as a plane. It arises from the beach as if by magic, and it divided the opinions: an affront to the coast and to the landscape according to some, a masterpiece of architecture according to others. After decades of neglect and struggles of contracts now former colony is being restored, like the whole area. In the direction of the rising sun, still along way Preli, opens a path that we recommend, hidden by a curve at the edge of Chiavari. You have to have a bit of imagination and spirit of adventure to find it. Then it's a climb out of the forest, between the Mediterranean and the remains of houses matte still in use in the last war. After a few minutes of hard climb you reach the sanctuary of grace, one of the jewels of this area (which is also accessible by car along the Aurelia). The sanctuary – actually more a church – is overhanging the sea and open one of the most beautiful views of the whole Riviera. Favorite place for weddings, contains a series of 17th century frescoes attributed to one of the most famous Ligurian painters, Luca Cambiaso, and his school (for details on the sanctuary we refer to specific reviews). Bottom line: a space where there's room for everyone and everything, in a unique natural setting.

  • The Church is beautiful, small and collection. A bud facing the sea, with a porch to sit and admire the magnificent scenery below. For me it is the Church where I got married and are very emotionally tied.

  • Panoramic view on the Tigullio Gulf. Valuable paintings inside the Church. Singular picture, depicting Christ, painted on both sides. Charming small chapel with the votive offerings.

  • The small church is also a beautiful shady trail "Delle Grazie" at the western end of Chiavari from half an hour to reach.
