  • Located in the Palazzo del Trono, in Piazza del Popolo in Cetraro, consists of an archaeological section and a historical section. The archaeological site is staged in two exhibition areas: the Museum of Brettii and the sea Museum. The first houses exhibits from the inland areas of historical settlement stage tirreno cosentino, identifies and delineates the material culture of the populations Brettìe (IV-III century BC). The second exposes a number of Greek-Roman and medieval amphoras recovered from depths of tirreno cosentino and testifies to the attendance of our seas, then trade routes, of ancient boats and reports of maritime trades made at that time. Also, complete the exhibition some scale models of ancient ships. In the historical section, however, there is a large collection of Cartographic Museum which exhibits maps, from 1400 to the post-election period, confessors of the transformations undergone by the Italian territory, most notably that calabrese, of which there is the famous seismic card created by Father Eliseo of conception after the earthquake of 1783; also fall under this section, the public library, consisting of a base of over 10,000 volumes of all kinds and series models that reproduce to scale the main religious and civil architecture of Cetraro.
