  • Beautiful castle, perfectly preserved. Inside there is an archaeological museum and a Museum of sacred art. Nice also the outer perimeter walls.

  • Truly a castle to visit. Sometimes events take place. When I did it last year there was talk of earthquake that struck in and around the early 900 Avezzano

  • Its imposing mass that dominates the Fucino plain and the village of Celano says of the fourteenth century and the next century makeover from Abruzzo. Nice to take a tour of the walkways of the outside walls in order to grasp the greatness and Majesty. Notable the second Museum of Abruzzo, located on the first floor of the beautiful Court of arches, the Museum of sacred art of the Marsica, where you can admire important works of art retrieved from the territory and kept here. Don't forget the Roman section of the ground floor and temporary exhibitions. At this time there is the one that collects the most illustrious City native manuscripts, that Thomas of Celano, who wrote the first biography of St. Francis of Assisi and composed the text of the "Dies Irae" (remember, Mozart and Verdi). Here you can see the original writings drawn by hand from the famous Franciscan monk. Entrance fee 4 euro, nothing compared to all the wealth that you'll take back. STRAT-highly recommended!
