Built after a vow made by the King of Sicily Roger II, Duomo di Cefalu is a Roman Catholic cathedral constructed in the Norman style. The basilica's fortress-like appearance looms over the medieval town, heralding the powerful presence of the Normans and the city's vulnerability to attack by sea. Pass through a large terraced parvise, or enclosed porch, that was once a cemetery with earth imported from Jerusalem. The spires of the two Norman towers on the cathedral's facade don't match. One symbolizes the papal authority, and the other is a symbol of royal authority. Michele Canzoneri designed the modern, abstract stained-glass windows in 1985. • I'm not a fan of such. But show its worth. Landscape is decorated with rock. Next cute area you can go inside.

  • I think it's now been designated a UNESCO building. Even if it hasn't, it's worth a visit, as is the rest of town. You should also try the walk up the imposing rock behind!
  • Nice Normand style Cathedral. One of the top attractions of Cefalù, with cafes nearby where you can sit and relax. Recommended._
  • The wonderful cathedral is actually an icon of the transfiguration of Jesus Christ. I love it!
  • Beautiful church, with interesting mosaics. Be sure to visit Palermo too, you'll see the relations. The town surrounding is very worth the visit. Easy to reach by train.
  • Great church with mix design . Like a laboratory of religion . Strong domination as Normand influence . Must be seen
