  • A new museum which has been well planned. It tells the history of the battery and the lives of those who manned it during the wars. It is a reminder of a time we can scarcely comprehend. Lots of...  more »
  • A nice little WWI museum located in a former coastal artillery battery. A good idea how to make it fun for kids - hunting for stamps scattered around the exposition. Get'em all and you get a medal. Room for improvement: English labels often missing at displayed artifacts. If you speak Italian od German, you are fine though ;)
  • Very interesting to get a different view of both 1st and 2nd wars seen from the italian aspect. Well worth a visit. Also ticket gives entry to all three battery museums in the area that have been restored good value.
  • Along the coast Cavallino-Treporti You can visit several fortifications/batteries related to the period of the First World War, erected to protect the city of Venice. Among the various, we visited, in locality Ca ' Savio, also this battery, recovered and staged in a very respectful and instructive, compared to the role that had in the past. The entrance fee is a bit high in our opinion, but we were able to bring our Maltesino Mirò with us, holding him in his arms or in his shoulder bag. The battery contains, in niches and well-restored rooms, many exhibition paths, with exhibits, memorabilia, documents, thematic arrangements related to life in war,... And it allows an interesting visual, sound and interactive experience. Also the exterior is well cared for and visitable; From the first floor outside, moreover, you can enjoy an excellent panorama and, in the distance, you may also see some other telematics tower (used to estimate the distances of the targets by triangulation).

  • Vettor Pisani Barriers Along the coast of Cavallino-Treporti we find quite numerous fortifications from the first or Second World War. This property is completely restored, made available at scheduled times for visitors. Hours available in the photo.
