  • I've never seen a market like this! A neatness freak in the product display, you can really find anything behind the raving right. Boxes, fish heads, vegetable scraps, scraps of carne...il all to 43 degrees. Truly amazing

  • Nowhere, you can feel the pulse of the city so as on the fish market, or here on the flea - and weekly market. Lots of junk and (gefällschte) clothing, paired with fruit and meat market. Everything is cheap, haggling is HES to every penny! Should you be sure times go, caution is required however, for pickpockets here is a field day because it's rear table and standing partially on the feet! Therefore secure bags and purses!

  • The translation would be "la fiera del lunedì". Its scope is immense, exceeded by much and illegally, the space allocated by the city: piazza Carlo Alberto, is called by the people of Catania piazza del Carmine, due to the Church of the same name that overlooks and dominates. Many decades ago took place only on Monday. Now is daily, Monday to Friday mornings, Saturday is overflowing, which is also open in the afternoon, but after lunch is far too small. Is everything; Butcher, in quantity, also Eastern and Islamic. Many schools of fish with a remarkable choice. Numerous vendors selling fruit and vegetables, where the supply is so varied as to confuse us. Sellers of canned, dried fruit, exotic foods, raw and cooked, cheese, sausage and ... surely I'm forgetting someone. Stalls of fabrics, rugs, pseudo electronics, cosmetics, perfumes, household goods, furs, footwear/clothing both new and used, which are the majority, and a lot of other merchandise that is hard to imagine. Years ago, when it occupied "only" the square, which is immense, was much more orderly and on a human scale. Many citizens, citizens or not, there flowed to buy, food and clothing, with great savings. Popular were and are the many banquets with "American stuff": used clothing, sold a few tens of pounds. how they procured them for me was and remains a mystery. Describe it is almost impossible, the confusion, the cries of vendors, even singing, to advertise their wares, are things to live, to see, and a morning may not be enough. Unfortunately today has grown out of proportion, more than double, squatting adjoining streets and squares, paralyzing a wide traffic-packed area that surrounds it. Many shops run by Chinese, oddly the only ones, together with butchers and a few others, to have a true workshop, all others use vans and stalls. Regardless, there are many banquets of merchandise Tarot: adidas, lacoste, rolex etc. are also involved in law enforcement forces Periodically, but later everything back as before, despite the seizure of so much "merchandise". Obviously there are bars, taverns, street food vendors, even exotic. There's even a barbershop where a haircut only costs €5. just to realize prices in the area. Because the only toilets, male only, not even describe. As someone once said: "you buy fine, find everything but basically is the fair of illegality". What can we say? Too bad.

  • If you like buying and seeing fish, this is the place to be.
  • Here you find all...nice market..clothes..second Hand..fresh food..all
  • Da tradizione, il bazar catanese detto anche a fera o'luni.
  • In the largest market town of Catania, also called by locals "a fera o luni", you can find everything from fruits and vegetables to fish, meat, sweets, clothing, housewares, etc ... and while you shop among the countless stalls come wrapped in a thousand scents, colors and sounds, in short, a real immersion in the local culture and traditions in the true heart of the city ... simply unmissable.
