  • beautiful example of local architecture, easy to find in catania Centre, unique construction, it is hoped that this monument remains over time.

  • Monumental Church remained partly unfinished on the front (see unfinished columns). It houses one of the largest in Europe with eleven records. In the nave there is an astronomical clock (a metallic line on the floor, a hole in the Dome light is illuminated indicating the astronomical position. Cloister great and valuable works of art.

  • The Church contains within it a sundial to the floor! The view from the choir is impressive! Excellent location for events!

  • Incredible :) We stopped in with an hour to kill and we were absolutely blown away. Carmella our guide spoke very good english and is very knowledgeable in the history of the monastery and shown himself to be very comfortable in answering a wide range of questions (not all about the monastery) The monastery itself is simply stunning and a whilst you can wander round most of the site you really need a guide to explain the story behind each and every part and in our case so eloquently done It's 7 euro's for the tour and takes about an hour or so but trust me, if you like history and enjoy exploring historic sites then if you are in the area this is simply a must and you won't be disappointed
  • Definitely a place to visit if you are a tourist in Catania (and if you live here and have not been here before). It has been massively restored. It's a treasure of architecture and history.
  • Monumental church. The facade is one of the trademarks of the city. If you can, take a walk on the roof for some city sight seeing.
  • Seems can't enter but you can check it out.
  • Lovely
