  • This Convent is an archaeological and historical site incredibly layered, and has the virtue of being restored and to be used as a University Department. Beauty at the service of education.

  • One of the most beautiful churches of Catania and the largest of Sicily, leaves delighted for her Majesty; the Meridian that crosses the transept, fully functional was beautifully restored; ... the neglect of the keepers, and even worse, disinterest on the part of local governments, makes it pour in a State of almost dereliction ... broken marbles, humidity, electrical crumbling (and maybe even dangerous!), mounds of dirt in front of the entrance doors, cobwebs and layers of dust everywhere, not to mention the wooden paneling of the sacristy ... very well? fed moths are eating great wood maturation of more than 400 years!

  • Closed to the public, I could only peek from a terrace inside thanks to the Benedictine monastery tour

  • Incredible :) We stopped in with an hour to kill and we were absolutely blown away. Carmella our guide spoke very good english and is very knowledgeable in the history of the monastery and shown himself to be very comfortable in answering a wide range of questions (not all about the monastery) The monastery itself is simply stunning and a whilst you can wander round most of the site you really need a guide to explain the story behind each and every part and in our case so eloquently done It's 7 euro's for the tour and takes about an hour or so but trust me, if you like history and enjoy exploring historic sites then if you are in the area this is simply a must and you won't be disappointed
  • Definitely a place to visit if you are a tourist in Catania (and if you live here and have not been here before). It has been massively restored. It's a treasure of architecture and history.
  • Monumental church. The facade is one of the trademarks of the city. If you can, take a walk on the roof for some city sight seeing.
  • Seems can't enter but you can check it out.
  • Lovely
