  • The climb to the dome is between 7 p.m. and midnight. A first staircase allows access to a terrace with little interest. Access to the dome, itself, is a small steep staircase in collimasson hence the view on the square of the Duomo is superb. It is regrettable that this visit could not take place outside these hours (especially for photos enthusiasts).

  • The Church is very beautiful, because it is dedicated to the patroness of the city of Saint Agatha. Admire her interiors and necessarily take the viewing gallery (ticket costs 3 euros). In my opinion, in the heart of the city no longer has such high viewing platforms. But it is advisable to find out in advance the timetable of the observation deck. We were lucky, we persuaded Superintendent miss us upstairs for 10 minutes before closing. Otherwise we would not have been able to climb back, even having another 2 days in stock-next day the observation deck was closed all day, and another day only to 11:00 am (we had at that time was already ordered another excursion).

  • The Church itself is not anything special that you can't find in other churches in the area, but the glimpses on the way up to the dome and the view from up there you won't forget them anymore! With a few euros (3) you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Catania, Piazza Duomo with the backdrop of the Harbour and the sea on one side, Mount Etna and its slopes on the other. I've been in a morning of December with my boyfriend at Christmas time, and we really enjoyed it because there was hardly anyone there! From Carpenter who lives in another city, in fact, I didn't know her and I found out that it is still little known to many local friends. We were there for almost two hours, seated with his back propped at the dome, enjoying the Sun and the view, with a silent "surreal" to Catania, interrupted only occasionally by some voice (and some notes) from the city at our feet. Wonderful! PS. Council to get information on schedules for visiting, why not open the whole day, and it seems to me that there may be variations.

  • €3 to climb to the top for great views over Catania. Bargain.
  • A very small church, which interior is round without poles. Dome climbing costs 2 euro, but it is a must. You can view Mt Etna, the whole city and the port with navy aircraft carrier from it.
  • Beautiful church, not like the others in Catania. A walk on the roof is mandatory, despite the stairs.
  • Worth visiting.
  • Very nice.
