  • "Historical fish market" is an important step for those who want to visit the city and enjoy the features, still poorly modified by modernity. Folk, full of old practices, a ' piscaria is a little bit apparently forgotten by time, but positioned at 100 meters from the main town square, the Duomo square with the Town Hall and the Cathedral. It can be accessed from both the Amenano Fountain (also called "water linzolu") both by the arches of the Navy. You find lots of good fish, fresh and well priced. In the surroundings there are many good pubs/restaurants whose menus are full of fish. It's a stage ultra recommended for photo-video amateurs who want to capture images and glimpses of reality.

  • A fish market as it should be loud, busy and authentic. Mostly fresh catch, but also frozen. In ancient vaults at home, in addition to the forecourt which leads directly to the main square of Catania, the Piazza Dell ' Duomo, passing by the Fontana dell' Amenano fountain... Also it is possible (mostly) fresh sea food in the restaurants on the edge of the market, to get not always reasonable prices. Avoid the restaurants recommended in the guidebooks: without regular updates they are mutated long tourist traps ;)
