  • Newly restored Castle, where you can visit the small town of Castro's history, from prehistoric times to the Renaissance. It focuses especially on the details of the journey of Aeneas and the recent discovery of the statue of the goddess Athena. Guides very prepared and available.

  • A visit includes in and around the castle on a journey to Otranto. Beautiful views of the sea from the top, the surrounded sights are filled with souvenirs and small bars. At night, the view on the Harbour, as well as on the beach promenade is super!

  • The beautiful impression I have always received from Castro, which is beautiful and full of history and inhabited by people educated and very civilized it sadly ruined by the rudeness of the Lady at the ticket counter of the Museum site in the Aragonese castle. Having entered, my family and I in the rooms facing the courtyard of the Museum have been reprimanded by the custodian not having a ticket. There were no clear indications, the ticket office was not at the entrance but sideways and barely visible. And anyway it was not necessary to say, and I quote: "in any Museum in the world you pay the ticket". I don't know who took this employee but I assure you it's not up to the tasks it performs. Aside from the fact that in hundreds of castles which hovisitato you can enter into the lobby and then find the Ticket Office see the Museo medievale di Matera, but none, other than this cafona, I've never been treated so badly.
