  • Rather than the Museum attached to the collegiate church I would like to reflect on the collegiate church and the Baptistery. The first was built in Gothic style in 1421, is located in the upper part of the village; the portal scolpitoè of 1428. Inside, the polygonal apse is adorned with precious affreschidi Tuscan school, by Masolino Panicale, Lorenzo Vecchietta and Paolo Schiavo, but that alone is worth the trip to Castiglione Olona is the baptistery, located next to the collegiate church and realtàun ' elegant Chapel set in an ancient tower of the destroyed Castle: Masolino da Panicale talking painted the Interior in an admirable way with scenes from the life of Saint John (1435). These frescoes show the foresight of Masolino, next to the beauty of the painted characters. Go you will be Hooked.

  • My husband and I returned to Castiglione Olona after several years to review the collegiate church. Than the first time we had to pay an entrance fee but it was worth it. A really smart Guide explained the history of Castiglione and magnificent frescoes in the Church and the Baptistery. If you're in the vicinity, don't miss the chance of this beautiful experience!

  • A place of peace and beauty. The frescoes by Masolino da Panicale are great as well and for the most part well-preserved. Visit highly recommended, for me it was a pleasant surprise.
