Terme di San Filippo Reviews
non lontano da bagno vignoni(veramente carino- da non perdere-),siamo scesi lungo un agevole sentiero, raggiungendo il torrente che per la colorazione delle acque sulfuree , ricche di carbonato di calc... more »not far from bathing vignoni (really cute- not to be missed-), we descended along an easy path, reaching the stream that for the coloring of the sulfurwaters, rich in calcium carbonate take on a clear celestial density, very suggestive. the limestone, white rocks resemble the staircase of the Turks. Natural pools allow bathing. The water gushes out at the exit to ca. 51 degrees, allowing immersions to enjoy a warm temperature. A proper renovation of the site is planned this winter to make it more welcoming.

Amid that landscape of cypresses, vineyards, towns and medieval villages, a free thermal paradise where parking is only paid (on the side of the road). Although we put the spa in our travel planning, we can only stay an hour there to realize the rest. I suggest travelers include Bagni di San Filippo and enjoy these wonderful waters for at least 2 or 3 hours, it's invigorating!
Durante una gita con amici abbiamo, seguendo delle indicazioni, trovato questo posto. Si tratta di un ruscello in cui convergono le acque di diverse sorgenti termali. The water is warm and you can bathe, for free, admiring the beautiful limestone concretions that tower over the place. The most beautiful and famous hsi called White Whale. The place could be better valued, however the visit is pleasant.
It looks beautiful. It's in the woods, surrounded by trees. The hot water is almost too hot to lay in it. The water does not have any depth so it's really like just laying in a jacuzzi but in nature. Access to the water can be a bit slippery after rain. If there is a lot of people visiting there is a chance that you have to park your car quite a walking distance away. There is also enough space to park a camper. It's an experience worth a detour.
Get there early to secure a park (you have to pay after 8am) and to beat the crowds. The river water is cool but there are some artificial pipes bringing in the steaming thermal water a bit further downstream, just look for the white encrusted rock. The place could do with some maintenance, plenty of abandoned underwear and broken thongs (flipflops, not g-strings!)
I took my son there to show him, how ancient Romans cultured bathing. It was crowded - and for sure - tourism always leaves traces! Such as rubbish and people leaving the footpaths and climbing around every where possible. But besides that, it’s a place you should at least visit to get an idea of our wonderful planet and it’s gifts we profit. After that walk down the wee street and find a lovely little ice cream parlour on the right - delicious home made Italian Gelato! Parking can be a little wiry!!!
Free sulfur hotsprings. Looks like snow/ice covered hills. Various hot springs dot the river that runs thru the park. Clearly marked main entrance. The futher you go, the better it gets. But be sure to wear some real shoes and bring water shoes bc it is rugged terrain. Lots of stones in water, but also mud yo slather on your body. Don't try to bring a kid in a stroller like some Italian parents did with their 8 year old son who should have been walking. Lots of shade. In summer, best to go late afternoon and stay late. In fall/winter, during the day.
A breathtaking place. An unusual landscape in the heart of Tuscany. Looks like a glacier but its actually the calcareous formation of the hot springs. A beautiful stop for the nature lover.
