  • Surrounded by a large and shaded park open daily to the public, the castle's history begins with the fortified mill on the river Potenza that Julius Varano and his wife Giovanna Malatesta took turn in residence at the end of the 15th century. Nowadays the Castle houses the Museum "Maria Sofia Giustiniani Bandini" – characterized by the rich furnishings and frescoed ceilings – which can be visited on Saturday from 15:30 to 18:30 and 10:30 to 12:30 and public holidays from 15:30 at 18:30.

  • I highly recommend you call us if there really is a desire to see and visit the Castle (not only the exterior but also the Interior rooms), because it can happen (and we have unfortunately experienced) find closed when it was scheduled to open. Then in the end it was a nice visit anyway since there are beautiful hiking trails and a huge lawn where they can play freely.

  • The castle of Lanciano is near the turnoff to Pioraco, about a 1.2. Km from the Centre of Castelraimondo. It is surrounded by a secular Park of great charm. It was built as a defensive fortress under the dynasty of the Da Varano, then became a mansion after various changes of ownership, since 1977 belongs to the Diocese of camerino, the Museum is housed on the main floor of the Castle, consists of 25 richly decorated with period furnishings and enriched by the collection of art collection from the family houses over 400 works of Bandini; various times , merit, including a remarkable saddle leather and velvet which belonged to Queen Christina of Sweden. A place where art and nature are combined to perfection. An oasis of peace and relaxation within easy reach. The tours are guided, the average duration of one hour. Opening days: Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10.00-12.30 opening hours: Morning/Afternoon 15.00-18.30 for INFORMATION and reservations: Tel 335 7589251 or 0737641663

  • Loved the Castello! Well designed and layed out to feel like a real castle. Great photo opps, gift shop but my favorite was Paolo for the wine tastings! Great conversation in Italian with Paolo. Grazie mille, Paolo!!
  • The Park around the castle is very nice, perfect for a picnic or to relax in the countryside. Pity that the castle is closed, probably as a result of the earthquake:(
