  • The Church of San Donato is called the Sistine Chapel of majolica. At one time the noble families demanded the ancient majolica realization of ceramic bricks with coats of arms or who had received a blessing meant as tribute a brick with initials or a special decoration. In summary these bricks had formed the floor of the Church. Due to some pilfering the bricks of San Donato were positioned on the ceiling of the Church and still you can admire their splendor

  • The Church is of particular importance because the ceiling is covered with pottery created by the artists of the area in 1600. So this church is the symbol of the ceramics of castles, global excellence. The effect is striking and unique. To visit.

  • And my home here are my roots and has the most beautiful landscape that you can see. In the morning you get up and you've got the mountain that kisses you you turn around and you'll find out everything below that is until Teramo. Then we have the magnificent Church of San donato with the ceiling filled with tiles of 1600, also called the Sistine Chapel of the majolica
