  • This little precious Museum is a treasure trove that transport us into a golden season of Veneto. A collection collection with love and dedication by the editors that offer songs of aristocratic life. There is only the frieze. ' Casa di Giorgione ' is a place of memory nadeem_pk77 and not only for the ' Frieze '. According to a 17th-century source here would be born around the 1477-1478 painter (died in 1510). The frieze on the walls of the sala maggiore (foreground) is an elegant monochrome of Yellow Earth revived by highlights of white lead and shaded by stretches of bistro. Impossible not to get charm from this work (especially the frieze of the East face, almost unanimously attributed to Giorgione) full of esoteric and allegorical meanings behind such a sequence object, descriptive inventory and only apparently instruments, alternating with rounds, depicting the heads of famous men and mottos within scrolls, inspired by the Bible, from Sallust's Bellum Catilinae and Sententiae of Publilius Syrus.   • We visited the casa Giorgione Museum as part of the exhibition ' the plots of Giorgione's being able to admire not only paintings, but also works of fine craft (lace), sixteenth-century taste and testimonies of later times; very courteous and well trained personnel; I don't understand the reason to prevent the photos without flash.

  • The Museo Casa Giorgione is a passionate and careful dedication to Maestro di Castelfranco on the part of his native city, a gateway to the world, the atmosphere of an era of great cultural ferment. An era that marked and marks the Marca Trevigiana, with a past that is alive and still exists today. Opened on 9 May 2009, at the opening of the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the death of Giorgione, the Museum is located right in the House where the artist has painted the enigmatic Frieze, not far from the Duomo citizen who accepts the splendid. The two works of art heritage of the city are preserved in the historical context and original environment, which is essential to their correct reading and understanding, a prerequisite for a newly designed Museum. Each exhibit is connected with the environment that produced it, and the content of the whole Museum are welded with the territory, reconstructing a series of reports before unexplored. In the House you can enter not simply objects preserved and displayed as visitors, but as guests of a place that can breathe the art and culture of the late fifteenth century through suggestions, quotations and images. Around the three fundamental elements on which is designed the Museum, Castelfranco altarpiece, the frieze of the Liberal Arts and mechanics and the House itself, revolve 100 original pieces. Gathered within the walls of this House Museum, meet contemporary objects to Giorgione and the Veneto area, from the civic collection and captured on the antiques market, but also architectural reconstructions, created with the contribution of artists, to offer a strong suggestion of the culture of the time. With the creation of this Museum, which lasted over 4 years, the town of Castelfranco Veneto undertook a demanding but exciting road, where the Museum may enhance, together with the great artist, also a territory rich of art and architecture, culture and social development. With this public work the city carries its own contribution of commitment and confidence to the growth of the territory, choosing to focus on unique and unrepeatable resources such as Giorgione.

  • I was a fortnight ago to the exhibition: the plots of Giorgione and I must say that for the first time that I used to do this type of tour. Maybe many, including myself, are convinced to see works of art of the great painter. Actually the show is based on representations of the tissues present in the paintings (Giorgione) but related to the masterpiece of his shovel. This painting, commissioned by the Costanzo family in 1500 to commemorate the death of Matthew at the battle of Casentino, in fact contains wonderful examples of fine fabrics and very variously. I also had an exception guide that explained in detail all the above. Really worth seeing.

  • Small museum but very well structured. Few works exhibited, unfortunately almost invisible Giorgione (on the other hand there are very few works of the master came down to us), but from the didactic point of view and a nice Museum historian, inserted into a very impressive architectural context: the walls of Castelfranco.
