  • We returned to the caves of Castelcivita to assist the representation of Dante's Inferno. Impressive place, already appreciated in the past and reviewed with great pleasure. Not to be missed.

  • It's a prehistoric cave, created by water with many stalactites, columns and stalagmites. The words can't picture the great variations of shapes and colours that can be seen inside. As I walked through it I was turning my head constantly, as each turn revealed some unexpected beauty, different angles made the rocks look differently, reflect the light in a different way to create another magnificent impression. Definitely a place to visit, even though it's not close to sea or highway, so you'll probably need to go specifically to Castelcivita to see the cave. But don't hesitate, you won't regret seeing the cave.
  • The cave extends for several kilometres:-the first part (about 1 Km) is accessible to anyone because the path is lit and there is a footbridge; -The second section (additional 2/3 Km) is accessible only by appointment for groups of at least 10 people. The visit I foresee the use of helmets and proper shoes; -The last section is reserved for speleologists. That said, my experience was really nice (although I have limited myself to the first section). See for yourself what nature can create is truly remarkable. Along the way we were accompanied by a professional guide who pointed out in a clear geological stages that led to the formation of the caves. I would highly recommend the visit ... so worth it.

  • There are many limestone formations. And are spectacular. does not give at all a claustrophobic. Joseph, the tour guide, was very patient and has been able to manage a group of more than 50 people.
