At the entrance to the archaeological excavations are underway because the materials and tools have been found dating back to the Paleolithic. The route is divided into three sections: the first section is accessible to all. You can visit the throne room, mushrooms, the crocodile and the Manger (the largest room); The second section can be accessed on reservations accompanied by expert speleologists; the third section that ends up in the stretch of the river Terminal is exclusively only by cavers.

The path is not hard, you just have to be careful not to slip, and the cool temperature in August is really refreshing!
It's a prehistoric cave, created by water with many stalactites, columns and stalagmites. The words can't picture the great variations of shapes and colours that can be seen inside. As I walked through it I was turning my head constantly, as each turn revealed some unexpected beauty, different angles made the rocks look differently, reflect the light in a different way to create another magnificent impression. Definitely a place to visit, even though it's not close to sea or highway, so you'll probably need to go specifically to Castelcivita to see the cave. But don't hesitate, you won't regret seeing the cave.
Giuseppe OrlandoAlthough it is found within the Cilento, is a location to visit for those who love nature in all its aspects. Once there, you can not do not need delving into the nearby oasis of the Calore River, paradise of unspoiled nature. For those wishing to dine and enjoy real products new vehicle, I suggest the Holy Spirit just 700 metres from the caves tended to get. Great food made with natural products, exclusively applies to the area.
Vito De AngelisBeautiful spectacle of nature and friendly and professional staff. Excellent restaurant next door. At certain times we also organize performances inside the caves, such as the representation of the Divine Comedy of Dante's inferno. The tourist route of an hour and a half is suitable for families and schools but there is also a more challenging path of 4 hours for the more adventurous and a further route reserved for speleologists. Around also picnic and walks along the river Calore.
Matteo amendolaWe went around a group of friends in this fairy place .... beautiful ride in the first section had visited twenty years ago ... great driving ... excellent organization. We promised to return to visit the central section during the period which permits it. That's real close to us there are ' natural ' unique attractions. ... Conclusion with great lunch on site, with local delicacies. By redo ...
