  • We wanted to take a look at absolutely the Juval Castle and have connected it to a great hike. Absolutely do it! The way how but also the castle itself is worth a trip if you are interested in the Alpine regions, their history as well as the personal Habitat of Mr. Reinhold Messner. We can only recommend also the other Messner museums in the region of South Tyrol. Each is worth a visit.

  • The castle is in a picturesque place, is one of the gems of the Museum project MMM what Reinhold Messner has dedicated to the mountain. Here is represented the myth and the sacredness of the mountain through an exhibition of excellent art pieces collected from Messner on his expeditions. It is rare to see Tibetan Buddhist or Hindu art of this quality outside Asia, however in Italy. It's lucky then you can visit a treasure trove in this place renovated with passion by Messner. My esteem for Messner but requires me to suggest greater attention to ways of disclosure. The guided tour I attended was very bad. The person who accompanied us didn't explain anything works that eventhough neither of the myths or traditions and customs of the people who produced them. Not even informed us of the other museums of the mountain. The Group was very few, there would have been the time and way to enthuse the visitors, but they were lost through the halls. Really a shame. I think the reason for so much reticence may be linguistic in nature. I myself probably in a language I know little I would have behaved as he did driving: no explanation, no questions. Apart from this criticism that I wish to be understood as an encouragement to do better, I recommend everyone to visit the Castle Juval because it really interesting. Thanks Messner!
