  • This weekend we were in Castel Gandolfo, a small town with a population of almost 10 thousand inhabitants which is nearly 40 km from Rome, in the Parco regionale dei Castelli Romani. As you enter the town a table informed us that the country is part of the "most beautiful villages in Italy", the city is most known for the presence of the Pope's summer residence. We arrived at Castel Gandolfo to Rome Termini station by taking the train to Albano Laziale and got off at the stop that has the same name as the town, continuing on foot for about 20 minutes and takes you to the center of the country from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Albano. The city and small but the village and kept well where in the two sides of the main street there are bars, shops and restaurants that invite you to enter.
