  • Castel del Rio, a tiny village of 600 inhabitants; characteristic village with stone houses very well kept, Palazzo Alidosi (Renaissance fortified residence of the family), now seat of the Town Hall and the Museum of the war alongside the aircraft of World War II and the Church of the blessed Virgin of sweat. But the most important attraction is the "Ponte Alidosi" wanted by the family for promoting trade through the Santerno Valley. The bridge was built in 1499 and is still a true masterpiece of civil engineering for a single span of 42 metres. in "schiena d'asino". Of course renovated several times and still is only passable by vehicles authorized to alternate one-way reach no more than 2s. Under the bridge passes li Santerno with its clear water and ashore a lawn for Alfresco dining. Just below the bridge you can hear the echo., very funny and charming. Definitely worth a visit.

  • The bridge stands on the river Santerno and has a humpback with a single arch of 42 metres. It was commissioned by Obizzo Alidosi in 1499 to mastro Andrea Gurrieri for five hundred gold ducats.

  • Remarkable engineering work at the end of ' 400 I think it's a very busy place in summer from people looking for coolness, this bridge located on the Santerno before an impressive Bight where probably bathed, worth to be admired even in October

  • Very popular riverside picnic spot with locals. Pack a hamper and head down. In the warmer months locals love to swim in the river too. There is a bar near the park by the bridge. I saw a few American style hamburgers come out of the kitchen there. Many motorcyclists stop there too. Beware: stop lights on the arch bridge. Don't ignore. Drive slowly.
  • Not to be missed. Worth the visit to the country from afar. Only large span, rare throughout Europe. Notable rooms created inside of the bridge as warehouses for tax collectors. The walk to the bridge in the middle of the landscape seems a stroll through history. I hit most of the fortress.

  • Ponte Alidosi stands on the river Santerno by about five hundred years. Masterpiece of civil ingegheria, has a humpback with a single arch of 42 metres. Commissioned by Obizzo Alidosi in 1499 to Mastro Andrea Gurrieri for five hundred gold Ducats, the bridge, along with the Palace, symbolizes the power and strength of family. The construction lasted several years, finally playing at the Valley of Santerno commercial movement and giving priority to Castel del Rio and its market place (the present piazza) as, the heart of the Santerno Valley. Inside five rooms, probably made for structural reasons, allowed the guards to the collection of taxes and the storage of goods. Several renovations have taken place over time: one of the most important, those of 1725, of 1862 and 2011. Has been a national monument since 1897.

  • National Monument. The ponte degli Alidosi crosses the Santerno at Castel del Rio. True work of civil engineering which has an arched structure called a donkey back to the particular form it takes.
