  • We have been in to see the famous Abbey: coming down from the mountain we decided to stop and see this Museum, little known and not reported properly. The ticket is really cheap (2 euro) and the Lady at the register was kind enough to accompany us through the halls and in the archaeological area. The Museum contains three treasures: the manly statue of late Republican age found in the theatre, a sword offered in rating and accompanied by an interesting inscription in archaic Latin and finally a beautiful funeral in bone bed found to Aquino in 2005. The archaeological area is large and well kept, merit (the Guide says) of the new Director of the Museum, which has made cutting grass and shrubs. Beautiful amphitheatre, which recognizes good arena and part of the bleachers. Also of interest is the tomb of Ummidia Quadratilla, daughter of a Roman Governor of Syria and great benefactor of Cassino, who was buried in this room made with stone blocks and tholos. The medieval fresco that adorned one of the niches is today visible at the Abbey of Montecassino. Definitely a museum to acquaint: only sore point is the absence of a bookshop, which make up some volumes in consultation and friendliness of the staff.

  • paid ticket at full price but it only shows half as the Roman Theatre (the most beautiful and best preserved) albeit just a stone's throw from the Museum is the municipality and is closed: classical Italian bureaucracy. What little there is in the Museum is well maintained, the staff is nice and friendly to provide all the explanations and to accompany visitors but outside the thing remains the same: the amphitheatre the grass is high and the path impractical. Not worth a visit as an attraction in itself but only to complete one made at the Abbey of montecassino

  • Visiting the Museum was held by browsing through the 3 inner rooms full of artifacts like plates, jewelry, parts of columns etc, all well preserved and described with clear captions. Now outside, what awaits us and an amphitheatre beautiful but too bad it's in a complete state of disrepair, surrounded by tall grass and dirt. I mean, I felt a sense of anguish to see so much history not valued and even let her die. However the price of the ticket is € 2 while children free.

  • The price of the entry is really cheap, so definitely worthy!!! The museum and the lapidarium are really nice, but the amphitheatre and the mausoleum are astonishing!!!
  • Highly-trained staff, addictive and very courteous. must visit for a dip in the memory of our ancestors.
