  • The castle which was one of the founding elements of the fortified system of Matilda of Canossa, is situated on the Summit of Mount Antognano (805 m above sea level) and its location, between the valleys of the Secchia and Tresinaro, justified the importance and size, enough to be considered was one of the largest of the Appennino reggiano, the great importance of this castle he caused that Matilda in 1077, decided to welcome Pope Gregory VII after the famous meeting of Canossa with the Emperor Henry IV. Today the castle is reduced to imposing ruin though it still stands the structure, which can be referred to a castle-enclosure; virtually intact is however donjon and climb to the top of the Tower allows you to enjoy a magnificent view over the Valley.

  • If you eat here you can visit the Castle. From there you'll see a beautiful landscape. Great for those who want to take beautiful photos and a brisk walk.
