  • Varies by day of the week, opening hours must be taken. Am only a day, will be from 3 o'clock in the afternoon. As our visitors, I slowly. Excellent, plenty of time is required.

  • Imposing and solemnly closes on the East side of boundless and scenic Piazza dei Martiri, the third largest of Italy. Generally identified as "the Castle", in fact it is a set of buildings from various eras: from late medieval to the Renaissance Gothic period, whose tracks do not escape to the careful observer. To want it turned into princely Palace in the 16th century was Alberto Pio III of Savoy, munificent patron and enlightened government man who transformed Cannon in a small, solemn capital. If Baldasssare Peruzzi, architect and painter took the now famous and beloved by Raphael and Bramante, who in Carpi as well elaborated the magnificent façade of the adjacent Parish of the Festival and designed from scratch the collegiate church, the present Cathedral, modelled on the new St. Peter's in Rome. The result was a magnificent reggia princely, as evidenced by the impressive artistic rooms on the main floor and the elegant courtyard with elegant quadriportico path by impressive and airy arches. It is the seat of the Civic Museum, which alone is worth a visit, while further South in recent concrete stelae celebrano secondary courtyard, together with the Museum to the deported, the innocent martyrs of World War II. A treasure trove of art, culture and civilization to discover!

  • The building is beautiful and huge for a small town like Carpi! In October during my visit there was a traveling exhibition of the Elmout Newton photographer that is worth lingering in the part of the museum dedicated to the exhibitions.
