  • A Museum really cared that traces the history of the mine and the town of Carbonia. You are immersed in the everyday life of workers. A truly wonderful thanks to the preparation, professionalism and enthusiasm of Loredana, the guide who accompanied me to visit.

  • Makes you think and makes known the hard work in the mine that so many men have faced in the last century for a living. Our guide, Mauro explained, in detail, the functioning and the evolution of excavation techniques over the years from 1938 to 1972. definitely an experience you should not miss a visit to the premises of the lamp-store with documents of the miners, the models of wells, lamps, cupboards, dog tags with serial numbers, and many other items that belonged to many men and women who worked.

  • Very impressive and our kids liked it as well. We recommend to take the guided tour into the mine which gives you a great insight into the hard life of the coal workers. Good for a stay of 2-3 hours and family friendly.
  • It's incredible how much history there is in this city! They offer a guided tour into the mines suitable also for kids. You can feel in your skin the history of the people that worked here years ago. The staff is well prepared and extremely professional.
  • Очень красивый и интересный музей
  • The great mine of Serbariu was opened in 1937 under the fascist autarky in order to meet the demand for coal in the country. The Museum, housed in the old lamp-store of mine, contains many objects that are used by miners during all periods in which you focus on deposit. The museum guides, very prepared, lead you through the visit of the original tunnels of the mine, now restored, explaining what life was like the miners ' work and techniques used for extracting the mineral.
