  • I've been to the Foundation long ago for a visit to the fliers and liked it a lot. is carried out only with the Guide. the very knowledgeable staff explains the history of this site, the lives of the workers who worked there and how it was made of silk thread. the twisting machines specially rebuilt are operated to show how they proceeded with the work and you can also see the spinning wheel from under-next to the bathrooms from which is visible through a glass-faced moving equipment. the duration of visits is approximately 45 minutes. are carried out from Thursday to Saturday at 15, at 16.30 and at 18 while Sundays and holidays are also open in the morning: 10:30, 12:30, 16:30, 15 and 18. It costs € 6, free with your subscription museums. the spinning wheel is also home to many interesting exhibits. I have enjoyed in the past that about escher for example and now we are back at the small but fascinating exhibition on emanuele luzzati, made on the tenth anniversary of his death. the exhibition intends to focus mainly on two aspects of this multifaceted artist: his activity as a scenographer and costume designer, not to mention the work of Illustrator. the route runs through 5 halls and the sections are named after Kings, Queens and princesses; luck, magic, magical animals and party; spells, Orcs, wizards and witches; Emanuele luzzati, artist and craftsman. in the first 4 rooms you can admire twenty costumes made for several plays, a great book from which hangs the braided Rapunzel, 18 books he has illustrated including hansel and gretel, the 3 brothers, etc. and 6 illustrations for some Fables. They also screened 3 animated films lasting approximately 11 minutes each, for which luzzati has edited drawings: la gazza ladra, the champions of France and pulcinella and the magic fish. beautiful especially the latter story! There are benches to sit on to watch them. in reality only one per room, but despite being a Sunday there was not a lot of turnout then you could see comfortably. the last room is devoted to the look and feel. You can see 36 drawings made with mixed media, collage, tempera, etc. for various illustrations-Cinderella, the girl and the Swan, etc.-and some storyboards and a screen print with a kind of snakes and ladders that takes up the theme of the animated film the Paladins of France. the audioguide included in the ticket price provides a commentary by the curator of the exhibition, each room lasting about 2 minutes which does not add much to what one can read in simple panels in each section. very suitable as a show for kids too! you visit in about an hour and a quarter. is open until 26 February. It costs € 8, free with your subscription museums.

  • Visiting the Museum is really interesting, the lady who accompanied us were very prepared, the visit of about 45 minutes flew away quickly! Nice too see the twisting for silk! We then visited "spells of Emanuele luzzati", a beautiful view especially for stage design, kinda lengthy audio guides. The photo exhibition "sea view" are nice.

  • The silk factories flyer is one of the oldest in Europe. The building was constructed around two interior courtyards, where they carried out the operations related to the production of silk. Within production environments have been reconstructed and the living spaces. A part of the complex houses the Museum of silk factory.
