Natural Arch, Capri
Categories: Monuments, Tourist Spots
Towering 18 m (59 ft) above the ground stands Natural Arch. As the name suggests, a collapsed limestone grotto along the coastline of Capri has formed this shape, which provides a natural window into the deep turquoise lagoon below. The arch, spanning 12 m (39 ft) wide, is believed to have been from the Paleolithic age. You can take a short hike from the nearby town that winds through narrow streets and past villas and colorful gardens to the arch. Wear proper walking shoes, and be prepared to climb many steps.
