Marina Grande, Capri

(2.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
An ancient fishing port used by the Romans in Augustinian times, Marina Grande is now a bustling tourist hub. Catch a boat tour to explore the caves and grottoes around the island, or rent a speedboat for the afternoon. For a calmer experience, stroll along the water and take in the views, perhaps picking up a souvenir along the way, or relax on nearby Marina Grande Beach, the largest on the island. With ferries from Naples and Sorrento arriving regularly, it can get very busy during the day: evening visitors may have a more peaceful time. Plan to see Marina Grande and other attractions that appeal to you using our Capri vacation route planner.

  • C "is the arrival of the ships from Naples or Sorrento, should not stop long, it is the less attractive of the island, you can ride by bus or by the funicular, time to take a coffee or refreshment, some restaurants and souvenir shops."

  • The main part of the promenade too noisy, filled with souvenir abound and the worst in Capri. The only nice part-to the right of the ferry if you stand with your back to the sea. There you can stroll down to the beach in Tiberias and there will be wonderful narrow streets amidst gardens, beautiful views and quiet. The best view of the Grand Harbour-since the beginning of the Phoenician staircase under Villa San Michele. Very beautiful at night, when everything is closed and the lights are lit on the mainland across the Strait. Simply magical! Try right on the seafront at the bottom does not settle and not eat, but rising as I wrote very possible and settle, and eat ...

  • I like Marina Grande ... the viw ... boats ... especially early in the morning and in the evening when there are so many people.
