  • The Parco Nazionale delle Incisioni Rupestri della Valle Camonica, established in 1955, in addition to being the first Italian Archaeological Park, is a rare example of enhancement and restoration of art and prehistoric and Protohistoric incisions on the European continent. More to the point, located approximately 500 m above sea level in the Park is home to over 100 locations Naquane sandstone rocks, some of them especially shaped by the work of the weather over the millennia and is appropriately protected and rewarded by the recognition of Unesco World Heritage sites, for nearly 40 years! Along an interesting path you can admire amazing engravings with hunting scenes, daily life, prayer and fighting fruit of the work of man of the time ... namely works of primitive art covering a time period from the Neolithic (5th Millennium BC) to the iron age (1st millennium BC)! In particular, don't miss the popular engravings and fine, as indicated by information panels along the way and, among these, 1 rock with numerous engraved representations over a large area; 23 rock with a nice wagon; 35 rock with hunting scenes and daily life in the village and the Rock 50 with figures of warriors, buildings and various hacks. Of course these are not real art, but the site's historic value and cognitive is priceless, a plunge in the history of "prehistory" and particularly suitable for hobbyists, students and onlookers. However some aspects are definitely improvable, such as descriptions of rocks, maintenance along the route and, perhaps, support with guided tours for those interested, even sometimes the complexity of the exhibits. For information: before reaching the site, after some minutes walking in a forest and then you access the area (admission adults € 6).

  • With my girlfriend and my dog there loved visiting this archaeological site full of petroglyphs. The site is nestled in the Woods and you can visit it freely because of the panels placed near the incisions describe well the figures. Access to the site is free of charge at the entrance just begging to sign a guestbook.

  • The engravings are certainly interesting, though not all are easily visible to the naked eye, we should highlight the most hidden framing them with masking tape or colored chalks. The staff is unprepared and unresponsive, if you ask for something they tell you to read the signs and are closed to hot in the Office rather than turn and watch over vandalism. I'm just saying I could touch the rocks without anyone that I scolded him and wishing I could carve my initials. 6 euro is overpriced, I'd put a maximum of 2.
