Well worth a visit! We had a guided tour of the lower part of the house - the guide was interesting and amusing in both Italian and English! The rooms in the villa still have the original frescoes and... more »

A Lucca per vedere ville e non solo la città mi dirigo verso villa Torrigiano, dopo la fregatura dell'orario di villa Mansi, e ci arrivo poco prima delle 10 quando apre. Parcheggio nel piccolo piazzal... more »In Lucca to see villas and not only the town I headed to villa Torrigiano, after the catch the scheduled villa Mansi, and get there a little before 10 when it opens. Parking in the small square with two other machines and waiting with my wife we walk back a beautiful avenue of cypress trees that I imagine once it was done on horseback or by carriage. At 10 on time opens the gate and we are the first to make tickets (for the truth only with two other foreigners and those remain throughout the visit, bummer!) The gentle maiden tells us that we can go to the Park alone or wait for the visit to the villa. I visit the park that is small but well kept and affects especially the garden of FLORA which is rare example (so says the Touring Guide for Italy of gardens) of baroque garden with flower beds that contained flowers; often you only see green gardens, hedgerows and meadows but it seems that in 500/600 were filled with flowers. The villa is beautiful both in front and behind, but we give up to the visit because it's late and then interest me particularly the gardens. This should be spectacular in bloom of Camellia. We welcome the Guide/ticket lady who very nicely for the return should the Cypress that is picturesque riding but you are likely low touching my car through the channels that cut the said Avenue. Now when someone goes beyond its little homework and speaking with manners seems like a miracle and I want to pay tribute to Ms.

Fin villa med en innvendig guidet tur som egner seg godt for familier. Vi lurer fortsatt på hva som skjuler seg i andre og tredje etasje- touren er kun 1 etg. Anbefales. more »Nice villa with an interior guided tour that is well suited for families. We still wonder what hides in the second and third floor tour is only 1 floor. Is recommended.
Beautiful house and gardens. The camellia and Magnolia are particularly impressive.
We stuck to the garden, and its magnificent! The grotto and formal elements (ponds etc) are terrific.
Strange and spooky but with a fantastic nympheum.
Beautiful but not well kept...The norm in Italy. These are all treasures that are undervalued and run in a very sketchy way.

Nice walk in the garden and friendly english speaking staff. However, considering the disfunctional state of some parts, the 7€ admission is to expensive.
