A place that allows us to reconstruct the history of Tuscany and the surrounding territory. Recovered very well, well preserved. The visits conducted by volunteers allow everyone to recover basics for reading historical and architectural texture. Absolutely worth visiting.

Discovered by chance on the internet and visited on a warm Sunday in June: it was a pleasant discovery. It is a small castle in relatively isolated area and charming. Well preserved by volunteers who take care of the guided tour. Shame about the lack of original interior furnishings but definitely deserves to be visited! A little hidden gem in our beautiful Italy.

The castle is preserved in perfect condition. Halls and rooms, prisons and ice boxes but the real wonder is the terrace with views to 360° from which in sunny days one can see, among other things, the Alps. Next to the Castle, even it can be visited, the Watchtower known as Rossenella. Not perderere

  • Wonderful Castle, renovated in a great, paying a ticket to four euros I did the tour, really very competent: the castle is not open to the public without a guide because of the risk that we run in some areas. Built by the grandfather of the future Countess Matilda, was originally a tower, similar to the nearby Rossenella which served to guard the valleys. Later Rossena evolved as a military fortress and passed into the hands of various dignitaries after the death of Matilda in the 12th century. Not to be missed, for all the kisses of historical places and nature walks, stunning view especially in spring. Recommend appropriate shoes for walking, this is a military facility and some steps may be poor.

  • Thanks to an evening tour with trekking attached have visited the Castle. Really nice but mostly suggestive Visual. Sunset should be a show.

  • During a 2 day Trek we feati to eat and sleep in the Castle ... an unforgettable experience ... local kitchen nothing fancy but good ... rooms basic but clean on the other hand, it is a hostel, but the atmosphere is fantastica...il staff very helpful ... I recommend it and we will come back for sure. Some pictures of the castle with panorama at sunset from the terrace ...

  • Beautiful place steeped in history. Ideal for Conference and chance to sleep inside the Castle x breathe the true soul of those times

  • The castle is located in a beautiful area, can only be visited with a guided tour and money is well spent to truly discover all curiosity concerning it. The guides are all very friendly and prepared and explaining it takes a passion really enviable.
