  • The area of Tuscany, very important from a historical point of view, is quite and interesting to visit. There are castles, towers, villages in these places that were crossed by Matilda of Canossa and other historical figures. Nowadays you can take advantage to stop for lunch or dinner at one of the many farms or restaurants in this area.

  • Greenery and a castle to visit! A really nice area to spend a nice relaxing afternoon around meadows and forests without to miss anything. A castle to visit and there are many restaurants where you can eat local dishes

  • There are many interesting things to Canossa (see the individual reviews of the attractions) and worth spending a weekend (I live very close and then I seen apart in several times) To plan the better first check from the internet if there are events scheduled in Votigno (tibet House), Canossa (go to Canossa) , Rossena (the Castle and the Village) On Saturday, I recommend the castle of Canossa, pass before the information point at the foot of the Castle (jam packed and very useful) and then visit the Tibetan Centre in Votigno. In the evening one of the many restaurants Garnica and Sordiglio). on Sunday morning a ride to Compotrera Cliff reserve, lunch at one of the taverns with good overlooking the Valley and the Sunday afternoon guided the castle the Rossena and torre i Rossenella. Sleeping in the area there are many bed and breakfast without having to go too far

  • The Museum is small but well done: contains all the essential information a tourist expects to find at the time of the visit. The price is included in the entrance fee to the site that is very low (3 euros adults and minors for free)

  • The view can be enjoyed from the top of the cliff, in the ruins of the Castle. Several artifacts and a model that reconstructs the original development of the castle of Matilda of Canossa. All well looked after and in good order.

  • Breathtaking view of the Badlands surrounded by the charm of the myth of the most important woman of the European middle ages

  • The Lady of Europe lived here, and if he feels a presence. To visit although little remains of the Castle

  • Not essential, but it's worth a visit if you are in the area
