  • We now know almost all the castles of Emilia Romagna, Canossa is a special case. While almost all are in excellent or good condition, this is a ruin, wonderfully positioned on its crag in the creeks. In this way we become aware of the evolution of history and of the Apennine landscape. With only 3 Euros (awesome!) you can visit the remains of the Castle, a small museum very well organized and an orientation Center with trained staff on hand to provide information. Thanks to the Museum and a short video you exit visit having understood the true value and role of Canossa, the breadth of their possessions and, above all, you discover who was Maud, confined to school to the story in the first leg of Henry IV, with the misrecognition of a piece of our history. A "ruin" not to be missed.

  • Beautiful town with the castle on top of a Summit of sandstone. There are still remains quite interesting we visited with a very informative guide. Nice little Museum. Grandiose panorama.

  • Attracted by the frequent citations of these last months of Canossa name we wanted to retrace the history of Matilde visiting castles. 360 degrees panorama of incredible beauty but only very few ruins in an area that deserves more attention and care. Pleasing the Museum especially for renovation of the Castle, the rest does not deserve a visit the breakfast
