  • I was accompanied on my visit to the Archaeological Park of san Leucio and other archaeological and artistic wonders of Canosa di Puglia by Dr. Renato Tango, highly professional and friendly person, treasure trove of knowledge of the archaeological heritage of Canosa. The archaeological Foundation Canosina, of which Dr. Tango is lively animator, is really to take for example of how to do an excellent job of excavating, land protection, conservation and enhancement of Italian heritage too often misunderstood. The enthusiasm with which explains the past of this area together with the great specialist expertise is one of the most beautiful memories of my vacation. Congratulations to all the volunteers for the amazing work that quotidianemente play. The contribution is at the discretion of the visitor/tourist but may willingly knowing it will be used in the best way. I also decided that I the 5x1000 initiative in this Foundation, and so they'll even acquaintances to whom I showed the excellent impression he received. Congratulations!

  • It is one of the most important archaeological sites of Canosa and consists of an early Christian Church. The remains are very beautiful and interesting: you can find a Corinthian capital with carved on one face and some mosaics. To visit it is necessary to call out and in a few minutes will come a competent guide that will show you the site and more at Canosa

  • Arrived at the basilica of San Leucio we found it closed but we phoned a number written on the gate. Responded a guide who came immediately and beyond to make us visit San Leucio, took us around to Canosa to see respectively the Battiistero of St. John, an underground, the Arch of Trajan, the mausoleum of Herod Atticus, a Roman Domus, the Cathedral and the mausoleum of Bohemond. Very courteous and prepared two hours gave us a nice overview of Canosa. Good thing there are these associations if you couldn't see anything.
