  • After years I reviewed the photos ... beautiful park we will revisit absolutely. This is the first provincial park established in Italy, The Candia Lake is of glacial origin and is powered solely by submerged springs. Notable plant species that you can appreciate both Lakers. In the lake water lilies bloom. In these environments, find shelter birds like the Bittern, Grebe, Northern Shoveler, kite and osprey to name a few.

  • The Park, really nice, is managed by an association that organises trips with guides very prepared and full of enthusiasm. Flora and fauna are varied and, aside from the Lake, the "wet environment" surrounding is varied and not common.

  • The Park is located 5 mins by car from the Centre of Heraklion, includes a playground and an area with wooden benches and tables. The Park also includes the swamp which comes via the sottorivara road (road on the right of the main road coming from Caluso and 84 on the left coming from Candia) at the first intersection turn right and arrive in the heart of the Park

  • Good day trip from Torino. You can rent a pedalò or a little boat for €10 per hour. Usually quite and peaceful even on week ends.
  • Visited during canoe races ... Beautiful picnic area sheltered by trees, with ample parking. If there is a great restaurant on the Lake (al Cantun)

  • Fantastic Lake great for carry out Olympic canoe or rowing, the problems come when it rains that the beautiful lawn adjacent to the shore becomes mud making impractical step for those with disabilities with wheelchairs or similar, hopefully for the next races Olympic canoe slalom establishments or the organizers take the brightest solutions.

  • The Lago di Candia is a Pearl among the hills. The Park is well maintained and full of initiatives.
