  • The Taufers Castle, perched on the rock, is a true gem and worth a visit. Guided tours are available, even at night. The time is pretty much continued and visits take place every 30 minutes. The guides, young girls, in costume, Herald the start of the visit, ringing a small bell on the entrance staircase to the Manor. The rooms, though not with medieval furniture allow you to breathe an almost magical atmosphere. The castle of the counts of Taufers, then passed for lack of descendants, to the counts of Gorizia and Tyrol, and the Habsburgs. Currently is owned by an association, with 200 members, who takes care of the maintenance and arrange visits. Very sad story-legend of this Princess Daisy, fallen in love of a plebeian, married him secretly, against the will of the father who then killed him with an arrow, the groom. The poor Princess withdrew into a room in the Castle, then throwing himself out a window. The restless soul of the poor thing would wander again. Very nice Chapel, with frescoes, the infirmary. Interesting little waterboard. Beautiful walkways, the tower and the rooms which housed officers of Napoleon Bonaparte. The tower was refurbished and redecorated recently, also for the interest of Cardinal Tisserant who was fond of the Castle. The Castle currently houses an exhibition on Luther and his reform. Also very beautiful fortified spaces outside the building that we visited. You can access to a small garden where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the village of Campo Tures and a small shop. There is also a small restaurant where you can taste a dish of the day (we tasted an excellent polenta with mushrooms) and Tyrolean specialities. Comfortable toilet. The road to the castle is very steep and narrow, however it can be reached easily by car and near the castle there is a large car park. Not to be missed.

  • Castle overlooking Campo Tures, maintained very well and with part of the furniture. Among the sites to visit if you're on holiday around here

  • We made the night tour, scheduled only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it was very nice, we may not have seen the castle in its entirety, but the atmosphere was fantastic. recommended for children
