  • The spectacular Church which is located practically on the beach is along with the castle one of the symbols of this town. The Interior is really rich in gilded stuccoes and furniture including the beautiful frescoes by Bernardo Castello and Domenico Fiasella on the left side of the Church. Noteworthy also are the statues of Saints Peter and Paul by Francesco Schiaffino.

  • The Basilica is built on what was once an island, or rather a rock a few metres from the coast. So close, that in the middle ages people of Camogli decided to fill the short stretch of sea, very few meters. creating what is now piazza del porto we can all admire. A large ceramic bowl on the wall opposite the entrance to the Basilica remembers the incident. "Even today, the camogliesi do not say ' go to church ' but ' I go on the island '," he told the neoarrivato (one month) pastor of the Basilica. Thanks to him, and to a guy that was in the sacristy, we had some anecdotes about the history of this holy place. Originally, already around 1000, there was a chapel, which was in fact the chapel of Dragun, the castle that stood on the rock and which still stands with its stone ramparts and the Genoese flag waving. The original Chapel remains a little, and that little is hidden in the foundations of the new Basilica. Which, in the late 1700 and the mid 19th century, was converted to the taste of those years and even enlarged. Or rather, stretched: the meters more are those between the entrance and the first internal columns, as he told the pastor. He then made us turn many, many lights of the Basilica: a wonderful spectacle, almost of the Fireworks, which really make it shine the entire Temple in a gorgeous! The details of the decorations appear in all their glory and beauty. The vaults were decorated by artists such as Linda's Ba while the sacristy houses a canvas by Luca Cambiaso

  • Masterpiece of Mannerism in the colle di Carignano in Genoa, the work of perugino Galeazzo Alessi, who also worked in Rome (possibly with Michelangelo), in Milan and in his hometown. Within the fine sculptures of Pierre Puget, Bernini's French wannabe. Beautiful dome which dominates the old town and is visible from many parts of the city.
