  • Great monastery at the heart of the Casentino forest, houses a beautiful baroque church. Inside, very articulate, hosts the guesthouse and two beautiful cloisters. To visit always but especially in autumn when besides the monastery you can witness the wonderful spectacle of the forest in a thousand colors of autumn.

  • I spent a day and a half to the monastery (Friday and Saturday) for a professional development Conference for lawyers and I must say that the location was very impressive, partly because, unexpectedly being November, it snowed. The monastery is secluded in the midst of chestnut woods, there is the old pharmacy, a library, cloisters and halls as you can immagimare and a bar overlooking the cloister, that represents the meeting point and the only place where wi-fi works. However, it is extremely difficult to use cell phones because there is almost no signal. Meal times, consumed in the refectory, are strict, even to outsiders (13 hours lunch and dinner at 19.30) and the monastery's gate closes at 22.30 without exceptions. The rooms are equipped with a bath, essential and furnished with single beds (mattress extremely hard). It's a special experience, it feels actually far from the world and close to a reality which we are not accustomed "monastic".

  • Enclosed in a narrow gorge, this beautiful Monastery complex in the casentino forest is a place extraordinarily impressive. The complex is composed by the imposing monastery (not visitable), from the Church, from the Guest House and the old pharmacy. The Church is a real triumph of the Baroque, magnificent and richly decorated and frescoed, with admirable paintings by Vasari, unique to lose his breath. The guesthouse is the part allocated to the host, which contains two pretty cloisters, one dating back to the 11th century. The old pharmacy is an incomparable place where you can admire the extraordinary carved wooden cabinets, ancient pottery and the old laboratory with instruments and medical books. Meditation and breathtakingly beautiful complex surrounded by lush vegetation and a rare beauty, where the monumental chestnut trees and relaxes the mind. Absolutely to visit and come back again!!

  • Beautiful place of worship where peace and quiet! To see at least once because it transports you literally back in time ... loved the Church, and the cell of Saint Romuald the founder of the Hermitage. You enter by donation and get greeted by a very nice! You can't visit the ancient pharmacy with products made old recipes of the monks ... almost a duty to buy some product by tastes and smells amazing and very good even though the prices are not cheap but well worth it!

  • Fantastic ... unbelievable ... still there are places ... where you can find such serenity ... ...

  • Camaldoli is a haven in the countryside, where they fled to escape the summer heat. Best to avoid the month of August, when it's almost like a chaotic city!

  • Place of worship where you forget to be in the 21st century. It exudes an air of ' magical '.
