  • Lonely place, nestled in a lush forest, where there is an air of peace and quietness. Immerse yourself in the visit of the Hermitage (guided visit) made us understand the hermit's life of the monks but at the same time we did discover a stunningly beautiful and unique world to visit carefully. Arrived on the square you can just watch, and don't visit, a fence where there are 20 cells of hermit monks; unique and extraordinarily important. To see a cell, you can visit the Church of San Romualdo and discover the daily life of narrowness of the hermits; a place that impresses every visitor. Finally we visit the Church of our Savior, beautiful and rich triumph of Baroque decoration, where wonder stretches in every corner, where wood carving and paintings of art can reach very high levels. The rest, inside and out, meditation and nature. To visit and come back again!!

  • How much peace in this place surrounded by forest casentino ... here you lose track of time and leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life to be embraced by a truly invigorating nature. It would be nice to be able to visit the entire complex, but the seclusion of these monks does not allow it and so you have to settle for seeing the Church, the cell of St. Romuald and the Porta Speciosa.

  • A very beautiful place surrounded by a forest second in Europe after the black forest. You can visit the Church, a cell of the camaldolese monks. Order founded in 1025 by Romuald of Ravenna monk who founded in this forest Hermitage and monastery. At the side of the monastery and the old pharmacy founded in 1331 and ancira now produces products, a legacy of the centuries-old experience. Camaldoli is definitely worth a visit.

  • Quiet and quaint place. Beautiful place to visit. You can also go hiking in the wood, the path starts at the left of the Hermitage.
  • Big Sur, warm amd professional hospitality, welcoming spirituality-- this place has it all. (Google is melding New Camaldoli Hermitage in Big Sur with Camaldoli Hermitage in Italy--proper contact info is on New Camadoli website-- Google does list that website.)
  • extremely inspiring place with 1000 years history
  • After a few minutes of climbing by car you reach to the Hermitage in the middle of the forest. The views along the way are breathtaking. On the site you have the opportunity to explore founded by St. Romuald the first monastery of camaldolese. Tranquility, the cold forest, spring water. Here the man is touching the God. Wonderful place. Absolutely necessary to see.

  • In the rare moments of low fluence of visitors, in silence and fragrant coolness of the forest surrounding the Hermitage, you can enjoy a moment of regeneration and separation from the confusion typical of our sconfusionata society disrespectful. Definitely worth visiting.
