  • Exceptional place. Amazing view especially at sunset. The only flaw I think it's a place in total abandonment unfortunately. Poor cleanliness, greenery winding stair case. But a must visit.

  • The sanctuary of the Redeemer has always been its busiest summer destination by nisseni than looking for cool go there in the evening, according to ancient tradition, to enjoy a slice of watermelon, luppini and a cool drink. The sanctuary with the Chapel and the statue of the Redeemer, located on Monte San Giuliano, are visible from most parts of the city and the first Sunday of August, the feast of Jesus the Redeemer, you repopulate to faithful who go there on pilgrimage. The work was designed by architect Ernesto Basile (hence the name square), son of Giovan Battista Filippo Basile and was commissioned by Pope Leo XIII to celebrate the 1900 years after redemption, during the Jubilee of 1900. Monuments in Italy had to be 19, one for each region, but all were released. For Sicily, thanks to the efforts of Canon Francis Fleas, was chosen Caltanissetta, Sicily, from which the Redeemer (constructed in the style of the one placed on the façade of the Basilica Vaticana), blesses the entire region. After a long period of decline, in 2015, were finally replaced the white marble balustrades that surround the square of the sanctuary and, with an energetic renovation of the whole area and cutting of old and endangered eucalyptus trees, was returned to the sight of visitors a beautiful view, restoring the environment to its original state.

  • What, I'm told, was once the symbol of Caltanissetta, now is in a State of total abandonment. The lighting is almost nonexistent, the Christ the Redeemer monument, restored recently, is already full of each bird. Around you are faced with a never-ending drive with couples too desecrate the place and, in General, there is a minimum order. Too bad. A beautiful monument destroyed by neglect and incivilità.
