  • The natural history museum in Kicking is a magical place where you can feel the history and origin of Italian natural search. And between past and present each visitor will find the path and theme (dinosaurs, paleontology, zoology, geology, etc.) that most interests you, deepening it at different levels. A museum where brought all the children (and not only). The freshwater aquarium, then completes and integrates the visit with something "alive" and more attractive to the general public. Each time, then, are always various new products, new layout and special exhibitions. Gorgeous and superb, then, the rebuilding of the Wunderkammer, that alone is worth the visit. I might do some construction notes (I hope). To reach the Museum signage is poor and parking (coming from Via Roma) is difficult to guess (the street is currently closed). Would an arrow with the ' P ' on the main road to make it clear that from the dirt road you will arrive at a parking lot. The freshwater aquarium (which is presented as "the largest freshwater of Italy"), even after its expansion, it represents only a good compendium to the rest of the exhibition programme, but there is still a little "credible" as a whole, with an exhibition a bit forced (I know that funding and resources are always a few). In the geographical sector, moreover, many species are repeated. Nothing to take away from the beauty of the specimens exposed, at least give the possibility to admire (in tanks of adequate size) fish difficult to observe in household aquariums. I don't understand the sense and usefulness of the tank with the koi carp (which at the time of the visit housed mostly crucian carp and various tropical fish): it was supposed to be a hot touch (not activated)? It is not said then that in order to attract the attention of the most need for strength only "monster fish" and smaller aquariums with large tanks: even small species (want to their reproductive biology, rarity, behavior, etc.) may be the most interesting and educational activities. The last note, perhaps the most serious being a University Museum: the sign of Aquarius is insufficient and inadequate. Many species lack and, where present, the labels show the poor Italian and English name; missing certain scientific names, maybe the language family and, in the field of evolution, at least the place of origin. I hope you will not be told that it is a deliberate choice not to encumber the visit ... because it's a job that would require at most a few hours of time, a search on Wikipedia and a laminator. Ps_sono a naturalist and I go to the Museum practically every year.

  • The Museum is quite extensive, there is so much interesting especially coming from private collections of 800 or by donations. Great idea not to disperse and enclose them in Chartreuse, operates in a beautiful one. I believe that this museum should be advertised more, deserves.

  • I went to visit this museum on a rainy day because it was recommended to me by telling me which was very nice; How ever I listened to that advice. Probably, who called it beautiful, has never seen other and serious as that of Milan or to Trento. The museum itself has many animals, both terrestrial and aquatic. the problem is that it is an mischiotto without head nor tail. Were put together in the same cases aquatic animals birds or terrestrial animals; Bearing in mind that this type of museums should be directed primarily to children, I wonder what do they understand it is difficult already for an adult. The cost then don't talk about it, is not very high, but €11 to visit a museum so poorly organized I seem excessive. I personally would not recommend a visit, especially if you have children, opt for natural history museum where the animals are divided by type or species and which are interactive; those who teach and remain impressed by children.

  • A little jewel in the countryside of Pisa. A beautiful setting and some amazing things to see. Perfect for families with small kids because the museum is just the right size and you move inside and outside during the visit, so kids are never bored!
  • It is definitely one of the coolest science museums. Offers numerous, rich collections and varied thematic.
