  • I came here a while ago with my girlfriend (who is) and was positively surprised of the beauty of the structure, although it is a small town in the province of Varese. I myself (which are Cairata!!) I found the work done at the highest level, the works unearthed are beautiful. The park surrounding the monastery is very spacious and the activities proposed by the city interesting. Highly recommended!

  • The monastery is nice, even spectacular, of historical interest for Lombardy very important but ... But it is kept very badly, we didn't find anything to see, no guide, showcases in remaking, lurid, the Church floors outside was full of cobwebs, three or four room indicated as to visit and completely empty and with exhibitors left to their themselves. The map then was the top, written in pen virtually unreadable. The good thing is that admission is by donation, perhaps for what is the place you could be charging a fixed price and keep everything in order, in the grace of Christ because it is a monastery.

  • I was at my son's class together Cairate The place is very impressive, well groomed and steeped in history. Worthy of note the availability of the Guide Augustine who, with patience and passion, showed us the different ravines of the monastery. Definitely going to check them out. Congratulations to the municipality, the Pro loco and the province of Varese who are committed to the preservation of places important to our local history.

  • Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria Assunta in Cairate (Va) Longobard noblewoman Manigunda founded in 737 by the who, according to legend, found in these places the healing-Cloister of the 15th century. The closure of the monastery in 1799 followed two centuries of neglect and decay. The subject of a long restoration and restoration began in 2000, the monastery is open to the public and open to the public.

  • The monastery is nice, but found it empty, abandoned to itself, full of cobwebs, with exhibitors unloaded, the map of the trail made by pen and virtually unreadable, something never seen before. Nothing but good you do, you should not go there.

  • Jewel of Lombard architecture. Beautiful music hall and the cloister. At the center of studies for the legend that surrounds the mysterious Lady Manegunda.
