  • To the many Souvenierständen over, we got to the entrance to the Grotta di San Michele. This was amazingly without entry and can be walked on immediately and gave us a place of strength and calm.

  • Place of prayer and reflection, saw where goes I'm ' globe. Synergistic with San Giovanni Rotondo although a bit more mystical.

  • You trip Advisor says that is the real St Michael's Cave that mistakenly was "moved" to Monte Sant'Angelo. Nothing further from the truth, built because throughout the Gargano devotion to the Archangel before was much more heard by now (overtaken by that of a modern Saint Padre Pio). Surely this cave was linked to the worship of water and Archangel but was built in imitation of the sacred Grotto of San Michele in Monte Sant'Angelo. To visit anyway!!
