  • Well cared for and preserved. Offers a glimpse of history preserved. Building beautiful and refined. Poor attention of guides in a context where it would be more engaging, particularly if there are a few people and there is greater opportunity to devote time to the promotion. Small details to be reviewed, definitely a tourist opportunities of improvement and anyway already good and interesting for a visit.

  • In January it is very quiet in Cagliari and it is a surprise when you can walk around in the Palace. Because now the province of Cagliari houses, it is guarded by police. To the Council Chamber, which looks beautiful with ceiling, paintings and an old fashioned decoration. The flyer (English) tells about it. The entrance begins with a stately staircase, which leads to furnished rooms (18-19th century) with many men with wigs. You will also find another group of statues with decorated Nuraghe (pre-historic population). The Council Chamber is the culmination.

  • Beautiful and impressive architecture which is located to the left of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria, where costs 1.5 euros, you can hop on the main floor of the building and see a series of 5 rooms furnished in the XIX century when the Kingdom of Savoy. Beautiful frescoed room, where today there is the provincial Council, with large frescoes that recall the glories of Piedmont "Unitarians". Louis, the caretaker, if there are too many people will accompany you kindly to visit different rooms, giving any info appreciated. Advice to admire in the first room the number of mannequins wearing the ancient nuraghic populations, beautiful dresses for originality and invoice, taken from bronzes preserved at the National Archaeological Museum. Place not to be missed!

  • Seat of political power since the time of the Pisans and later with the Spaniards, the palazzo owes its current engineering work desired by the Piedmont region. The mansion itself was for several years the real Piedmont fleeing from Napoleon. The beautiful staircase access door to the different rooms, different colors and beauties. The yellow room is undoubtedly one of the most interesting because of the frescoes of Bruschi. The most important is however the last, today's former throne room, boardroom of the metropolitan city. Several frescoes representatives sovereign and viceroy.

  • Is a small museum where you can see original portraits and furnishings of the Palace. Very interesting.

  • The Royal Palace, also known as Regio or Viceroy, is a historic building in Cagliari, former residence of the King's representative during the aragonese domination, Spanish and Savoy and presently the seat of the Prefecture and the province of Cagliari. It is located in piazza Palazzo, in the Castello district. The Palace has 14th-century origins, and became the seat of the viceroys since 1337, at the behest of Peter IV of Aragon [1]. Over the centuries the building suffered several changes and additions. Particularly significant were the eighteenth-century restorations; in 1730, at the hands of engineers from Piedmont de Guibert and Dan was made the grand staircase leading to the piano nobile, whose rooms were restored in 1735 by the Vallea. The West façade, with the main entrance is lined up with the grand staircase, was placed by 1769, as evidenced by the inscription on the bezel of the glass door that opens onto the Central balcony. Between 1799 and 1815 the Palace was the official residence of the Royal family and the Court [1], in exile from Turin, occupied by Napoleon. In 1885 the Palace became the property of the province, which established its representative office and oversaw the restoration of the Interior, in order to adapt them to the new function. In 1893 began work on the decoration of the sala del Consiglio, del perugino Domenico Bruschi for the frescoes and Angeletti for the stucco. The work was completed in 1896.
