  • It is the principal of four historic districts of the city. It is 100 metres above sea level and its narrow streets and features are almost all uphill. You can avoid the first climb though taking a comfortable and scenic elevator that starts from the bastion of Saint Remy. Castle District dates back to the 13th century. The Pisans they founded to defend the town, and then there are the historic city walls, towers and bastions still visible and visitable. The neighborhood is home to the Cathedral, the Art Museum, the Museum, the Royal Palace and the two beautiful Elegant towers and San Pancrazio.

  • The best place to start your trip to getting known Cagliari is the Castello quarter, both because its hilltop position and thus the view but also due to its historic importance. The Cathedral, palaces...  more »
  • The District offers numerous reasons for a visit, there are numerous historical and artistic heritage to be found there. The most famous monuments, those that make up an almost obligatory stop for visitors to the city, they are surely with good reason the Cathedral, the Pisan towers and the bastion of Saint Remy. However perhaps the most striking places of the Castle are located along the narrow streets, ladders, little squares that open, such as terraces, on beautiful scenery and looking out over the dark hallways of the buildings, once sumptuous aristocratic residences and often decadent and in need of restoration, visiting other churches which, unlike the Cathedral, from the outside not even notice, but keep inside them interesting works of art.
