  • Definitely strikes the visitor the large number of tombs carved into the limestone. He also understands why the area was at risk speculation: there is a remarkable landscape on the pond of Santa Gilla lagoon, the city, the mountains of Capoterra. In some areas, unfortunately there is still a construction site. Will hopefully be totally made accessible as soon as possible. There is room for improvement.

  • Well this may have been OK if we had been able to find it. We walked to where it was indicated on the tourist map, but it was shown in the middle of a very large block. We walked all round it and took...  more »
  • Unique and spectacular perfectly kept though still expanding and under construction. Undervalued and little known yet impressive when you consider that this is the largest Punic necropolis on the Mediterranean. Is located in the Centre of Cagliari, just minutes from the airport and admission is free.

  • It's very interesting if you like ancient sites, and it's free. Hard to find because the locals don't seem to know where it is, even the bus drivers. Take the number one bus to trento, there is a big market there on Sunday morning, take via zara and turn left at the top. Also see the Temple of the vipers in viale savendrace.

  • The giant Roman Punic necropolis of Tuvixeddu and subsequently, the largest in the Mediterranean.

  • What remains of the Punic necropolis in the Mediterranean has been rearranged so wonderful inside a public park, just a pity that we cannot access the burials more closely. After the war, the graves were used as makeshift shelters for those who lost their homes during the Allied bombings of World War II, ended up in the hands of the Italcementi which made the necropolis a quarry for extraction of lime.
