  • This morning, taking advantage of the fact that it is the first Sunday of the month with free entry, I decided to enjoy a festive morning at the archaeological museum in my town. What a surprise I found! Almost completely revamped settings thanks to public funding obtained for putting forward a project, the best in Italy, for the Museum fluid, accessible and usable by all. So: models of palpable for small visitors exhibits and the visually impaired, hearing impaired audio explanations also and even a tiny little toilet reserved for kids ... a unique never seen anywhere! Beautiful exhibits, starting from the ground floor up to the third floor, extremely suggestive, hosting the "giant statues of ' e Prama" really valuable statues and familiar to most people. Really a Sunday morning well spent for me and then recommend a visit to this beautiful Museum! Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this rearrangement. Very friendly and hospitable staff.

  • Included in the splendid historical buildings museums Citadel, situated in panoramic position on top of the old Castle, the Museum offers the visitor a fascinating journey into the ancient Sardinia, particularly in the nuraghic civilization that flourished around 1500 BC, great attention is paid to so-called giants of Monti Prama, large statues which are one of the first examples of statuary in the Mediterranean but unfortunately the rest of the collection is not properly valued. In particular small bronze that constitute the other peculiar artistic expression of the nuraghic civilization, are rather sacrificed: the numerous statues depicting with extraordinary expertise warriors, priestesses, bidders, spaceships, etc., are arranged in a dimly lit area and largely placed about one metre above the ground in deep cabinets so that the visitor will have to fold and almost put her head on the glass to try to see better. So refined works deserve to be seen more easily and to be better appreciated!

  • The Museum houses numerous exhibits of various civilizations that have succeeded in Sardinia: from the nurargica to the Phoenician, Punic and the Dutch. The bronzes are evidence of the high level reached by local craftsmen in bronze casting in the age nurargica. They are also exhibited several statues were found in the area of Monti Prama, considered to be among the oldest in the Mediterranean.
