Monte Urpinu, Cagliari

(4.6/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web)
A lovely park with plenty of history, Monte Urpinu also offers unparalleled views of Cagliari and Campidano. The urban green space has belonged to the city of Cagliari since the government bought it during Fascist times. Over the years, it has transformed, including the closing and reforestation of a section that once held a military base during the Cold War. Today this natural attraction serves as a popular spot for picnics, outdoor activities, and photography. Snap great shots of the panoramic views from this vantage point and take notice of the many kinds of trees here, including the Aleppa pines, which were planted in the 19th century. • Arriving at Cagliari, a beautiful city and welcoming, which truly reflects the famous hospitality and courtesy of the Sardinian people, presents a variety of different and wonderful places to visit. One of these is Monte Urpinu, from where you can admire the fantastic beauty by nothing short of idyllic, where you can enjoy the view of the whole city is much of the hinterland. A postcard view, with the wonderful Poetto Beach overlooked the beautiful Devil's saddle, the Molentargius lagoon with its wonderful and now resident Flamingos Rosa.Il Park which is now a beautiful green lung for all inhabitants of Cagliari and not. Those coming in this city need to go from here.

  • The Park of Monte Urpinu is located in the city centre of Cagliari within walking distance from downtown. Monte Urpinu represents one of the top destinations for families with children, is ideal for a picnic, a walk among pine trees and ponds, and is a suitable place for physical activity in nature. Inside there are numerous species of flora, fauna and Lakes inhabited by swans and turtles, also you can see beautiful specimens of peacocks. The main entrance is in via Pietro Leo, other entrances are located in Viale Europa and via Vidal, where there is also a Tennis Club Cagliari. The Park which originally took the name of Monte Spiz, was renamed after Monte Urpinu according to the translation in the Sardinian dialect of "Fox", since in the past has always been inhabited by foxes and other wild animals. Car access is always open, while the pedestrian Park is open all year from morning till night every day and varies depending on the season.

  • A nice Boardwalk surrounded by peacocks, ducks, ducks and other birds. My son loved it. There are also slides and swings. We were there in February and the bars and bumper cars that are at the entrance were closed.
