  • Historical and artistic point of view it is a gem. Restorations not too distant in time keep alive the brightness and beauty of the place. Don't miss the frescoes of Bellotti in the presbytery. Some notes on management: the good order and the presence of new furniture harmonize the structure. Unfortunately this has been at the expense of the life and history of the basilica. An example: the souvenir photo disappeared from confessional to don Isidoro Meschi, priest and legnanese killed by a young and so loved by the people. If the command clears the memory, rather than order is fixation.

  • I believe that a church, being the House of the Lord ... should always be open ... do not say at night but at least during the day. Timetable from store ... and if I wanted to go to church during my lunch break?! Nice Church but ridiculous hours. Do yourself a summer of conscience.

  • From piazza Santa Maria we headed to this important Church which stands on the ruins of a small chapel in Lombard. The Bell Tower was built in the 15th century and remains the oldest preserved until today. Its construction began in the first decade of the 1600 and the Baroque façade stands out because of nearby copper and bronze doors with bas-reliefs depicting the life of St John the Baptist. Beautiful are also the statues of Saint Ambrose and Saint Charles Borromeo, while inside are preserved interesting paintings depicting the life of St John the Baptist and in the transept are frescoes of the seventeenth century. Definitely worthy of visit.

  • The basilica of St. John the Baptist is one of the main place of Catholic worship in Busto Arsizio, dedicated to one of the patron saints of the city. As the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, also this building stands on the ruins of a Longobard Chapel about eight meters wide. In 1948 the Church was elevated to the dignity of a minor basilica. [1] The Bell Tower with a square base, in brickwork, dating back to the period between 1400 and 1418 [2]; is the oldest part of the present building.
