(4.3/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Spend a day learning about wild animals from around the world at Parco Natura Viva, a wildlife park established in 1969 and located in the picturesque hills of Verona province. The sprawling park covers an area of about 40 hectares (99 acres), and shelters nearly 1,500 indigenous and exotic animals, which represent over 250 species of wild creatures. Each year the park attracts nearly half a million visitors of all ages. You can explore two main areas inside this park, both of which are designed to keep the visitors and the animals as safe as possible. The safari area allows visitors to stay inside their vehicles, while the fauna zone is for pedestrians only. The park also includes a dinosaur display area, the first site in the country with life-size models of prehistoric reptiles. • We visited the Park on the last day when it was possible to make the safari. Maybe if we avoided was better: four of the cost is not really low and honestly I was expecting better: a few animals of the few species (I thought maybe they were moved for their own protection having regard to the cold). The disappointment was broiling instead when we realized that there was no control in the Park: the cars that will surpass and many, many with Windows wide open to take pictures while ignoring the regulation that forbids it. Certainly it is the fault of those ignorant people who do not have a minimum of respect for the rules but was hoping for some operators control. The ugliest scene was when a giraffe attracted from within a car stuck in the head because the window was wide open. She started thrashing about in an attempt to break free but to no avail. Only the intervention of two housekeepers has freed the poor beast. The car? Continued undisturbed ride with my only consolation that the giraffe has almost ripped through the door. Other negative point: after paying handsomely entry if you want to park a car you have to pay another two euros. Fortunately, then to walk around the Park pays off than previously experienced. Too bad ... a nice day tarnished by serious incidents but easily avoided.

  • Awesome Zoo that houses many species of animals. Well maintained as cleaning offers many attractions for young and old. Open in its entirety also offers dining areas. One cannot make the visit with the car in the beautiful area of the Safari where you can admire the beautiful White Lion. not open to the public though in winter. with this are the 10 times I've visited over the past 20 years and each time it gets better than the previous. Do not miss also the Botanical Garden a treat inside the zoo.

  • Finally we came to this area and the visit to the Park is a must. Not a zoo but a real property for many species of beautiful animals. Ever seen a similar Park, from the feeling of serenity of the animals never noticed her before. Visit it on foot is my advice.

  • Amazing park. For families and children. It takes one day to visit it all.
  • Great Park, all the enclosures are very well set up and give plenty of space. a great place for a very full day with the family.
  • Great day out and the animals are really well looked after which is a pleasing surprise. Focus on conservation and education rather than profits
  • Very cool Park with 2 parts, safari and zoo. Plenty of animals from all continents including lions, tiger, cheetah, rhino, hippo, hyenas, giraffe and many more. Definitely recommend.
  • Great place, and great organization you need a full day to go over everything
